Cowee, Robert

Robert E. Cowee Sr., 89, of Farmington died Jan. 30, 2024, at Presbyterian Manor in Farmington. Mr. Cowee worked at the University Club in St. Louis. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Potosi. Born July 27, 1934, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Victor Duward and Violet (Hamilton) Cowee.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Phyllis J. (Hyde) Cowee.

He is survived by six children: Robert E. “Bob” (Becky) Cowee Jr. of Graham, Wash., Paula (Ronald) Akins of De Soto, Rhonda (Mark) Smith of Woodbury, Tenn., Tracy (Elaine) Cowee of St. Stephens, S.C., Timothy (Kelly) Cowee of St. Louis and Laurie Isenhart of Goose Creek; a son-in-law: Joe Lore of Cadet; a brother: William (the late Angie) Cowee of St. Louis; a sister-in-law: Ruby Cowee of St. Louis; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a daughter: Pamela Lore; a son-in-law: Doug Isenhart; a sister: Mary (Gene) Jackson; and two brothers: James (Katie) Cowee and Raymond Cowee.

A memorial gathering and meal is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at the First Baptist Church, 2000 Grace Way, in De Soto. Burial service with military honors will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Brad DeLaughter. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
