Rita Faye Gilreath, 65, of Imperial died Dec. 11, 2023, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis. Mrs. Gilreath was born June 5, 1958, in Summerset, Ky., the daughter of the late Ella Mae (Ridings) and John William Grimsley.
Rita Faye Gilreath, 65, of Imperial died Dec. 11, 2023, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis. Mrs. Gilreath was born June 5, 1958, in Somerset, Ky., the daughter of the late Ella Mae (Ridings) and John William Grimsley.
She is survived by her husband: Rick Gilreath; two children: Kile (Beth) Gilreath of Festus and Amanda (William) Childers of Hillsboro; three adopted children: Erica Trtan, Don Harbaugh and Jeremy Koeper; five siblings: Charles Grimsley, Bruce Grimsley, Shirley Hughs, Gary Grimsley and Angela Holmer; a son-in-law: Richard Sturk; a daughter-in-law: Emily Sturk; 16 grandchildren: Heaven Sturk, Michaela Gilreath, James Childers, Faith Childers, Ella Childers, Lillian Gilreath, William Childers, Talulah Childers, Daliha Childers, Gabriell Childers, Cameron Dunn, Dominic Garofaro, Jaydon Webb, Ella Koeper, Athena Harbaugh and Don Harbaugh Jr.; a great-granddaughter: Katalina Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her adopted son: Frankie Ray Surber; three siblings: Pat Wesley, John Dean Grimsley and Frank Grimsley.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until a funeral service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Terry Crank. A Celebration of Life will follow from 3-6 p.m. at The Knights of Columbus, 9330 Hwy. 21, in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to the De Soto Soccer League or Imperial Youth Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
