Richard Dennis Williams, 76, of Imperial died May 30, 2025, at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis. On May 19, 1970, Mr. Williams went to serve in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a sniper in the 21st Infantry Rear Division Bravo Company. Upon returning home, he worked as a welder fabricator for Sunnen Manufacturing and was a member of the Waterloo Sportsman Club. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Born May 10, 1949, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Harry Norman Williams and Monica Marie Williams.
He is survived by his wife of more than 52 years: Karen Jean Williams of Imperial; a son: Steve (Angela) Williams of Arnold, a daughter: Toni (Ronald) Roesch of Festus; a brother: Jim Williams of Barnhart; a sister: Debra (Kenneth) Carter of Barnhart; three grandchildren: Kyle, Alex and Ava; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Kenneth Norman Williams.
Visitation is scheduled from 3 p.m. until services at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Kyle Castens. A graveside service and burial are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 5, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks.
