Richard Albert “Dick” North, 81, of Hillsboro died Oct. 15, 2023. Mr. North served in the U.S. Army and retired from Chrysler Corporation after working there for 37 years. He studied agriculture and animal husbandry at the University of Missouri Columbia, where he spent his summers working on a farm nearby. For more than 50 years, He lived his dream of being a farmer at his own Hillsboro farm. Born May 10, 1942, in Webster Groves, he was the son of the late Ruby Virginia (Brooks) and Robert Albert North.
He is survived by his wife: Rosalind T. (Anania) North; a daughter: Jeanne Therese North; three siblings: Robert A. (Suzette) North, Gerry Kupfer of Webster Groves and Virginia Fischer of Sunset Hills; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: Bradley North; and a brother: John E. “Jack” North.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society Research Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
