Rebecca Jean Duessel, 65, of Barnhart died June 12, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Duessel enjoyed making jewelry for loved ones and for herself, fishing and spending time with her family and friends. She also adored cats and was known as a “cat maniac.” Born Oct. 21, 1958, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Betty (Sean) and William N. Keith.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years: Steven Duessel of Barnhart; two children: Teri Annastasia (Jim) Brusselback of High Ridge and Sharon Duessel of Barnhart; seven siblings: Patty Salter of Los Angeles, Calif., Larry (Bonnie) Gessel of St. Louis, Bobby Keith of St. Louis, Bill (Denise) Keith of Hillsboro, Betsy Keith of St. Louis, Barb Keith of Mountain Home and Brenda Wilcox of Mountain Home; six other family members: Trish Duessel of Pacific, Lynn Duggan of Fenton, Rich (Cassie) Duessel of High Ridge, Dennis (Annette) Duessel of Arnold, Bill (Dede) Wallace of St. Louis and Ann Klaser of Florida; and many other friends and family members.
She was preceded in death by a sibling: Terri Donaldson; a father-in-law: Laurance M. Duessel; a mother-in-law: Marian R. Wallace; and a brother-in-law: David Duessel.
Visitation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. A memorial service is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, at Bellefontaine Neighbors Cemetery, 4947 W. Florissant Ave., in St. Louis. Memorials may be made to the Immune Deficiency Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
