Cochran, Rebecca

Rebecca DeAnn “Becca” (Powell) Cochran, 26, of Festus died July 10, 2024, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis. Mrs. Cochran was a 2017 graduate of Hillsboro High School. During her studies, she enjoyed working with people with special needs and other challenges and was involved with Special Olympics, particularly basketball. Her favorite subject in school was choir. She enjoyed visiting the zoo, spending time outdoors with her dog, Doc, and her cat, Theodore, listening to music, especially Ed Sheeran and Elvis, attending concerts, rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals, watching Disney movies and Chicago Fire and spending time with her family and friends, especially her father, nephew and niece. Born May 7, 1998, in Crystal City, she was the daughter of Alvin (Pam) Powell and the late Kim Powell.

In addition to her father and stepmother, she is survived by her husband: Destry Cochran II; a sibling: Tyler (Destiny) Powell; her mother-in-law: Michelle (Joe) Orsega; her father-in-law: Destry Cochran Sr.; three grandparents: Linda Fritzius and Dave and Lea Thomlison; a brother-in-law: Dalton Cochran; two sisters-in-law: Marissa (Erik) Burstert and Jada Cochran; an aunt: Peggy Schuebel; two uncles: Sam Rallo and Earl Koenig; a nephew: Ryder Powell; a niece: Rhea Powell; three special church friends: Carolyn Vaughn, Linda Wessel and Jeannie Ratliff along with several others; and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by four grandparents: Wanda (Dewayne) Duncan, Hoover Delbridge, Betty (Marion) Thurman and Roy Powell; an uncle: Andy Powell; and three aunts: Liz Powell, Pam Rallo and Sherry Koenig.

Rebecca was cremated and was an organ donor. Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 at Arnold Church of Christ, 2267 Scott, in Arnold, officiated by Dan Curry. The family asks that people wear purple. Memorials may be made to Gateway to Hope, 3114 Sutton Blvd., Maplewood, 63143, de Greeff Hospice House, C/O Charity Fund, 10024 Kennerly Road, St. Louis 63128, Pedal the Cause, 9288 Dielman Industrial Drive, Olivette, 63132,  or any cancer fundraising organization of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel in St. Louis County.
