Peggy Nance, 76, of Hillsboro died Sept. 27, 2024. Mrs. Nance was a 1966 graduate of St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Farmington. Later in life, while working a full-time job and raising her children, she graduated with an accounting degree from Maryville University. She retired as an information systems vice president at BUNZL Distribution. She was a parishioner and lector at Good Shepherd Catholic Church where she served on the parish council. Prior to this, she was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bonne Terre where she served on the parish council and school board. She was a recreational golfer and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her warmth, wisdom and unwavering support. Born July 21, 1948, she was the daughter of Pat AuBuchon and the late Bryant Joseph “BJ” AuBuchon.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Murray Nance Sr.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters: Lisette Nance (Dave Sr.) Maloney and Robyn Nance; a son: Murray (Jennifer Herman) Nance Jr.; 12 grandchildren: Jordan Maloney, David Maloney Jr., McKensie Griep, Nicholas Griep, Ryan Griep, Linzy Griep Wontorcik, Christin Nance (Dean) Balan, Katie Nance, Kevin Nance, Rachel Giustino (Adam) Konopka, Lindsey Giustino and Meredith Giustino; and four siblings and siblings-in-law: Linda (Dave) Buerck, Joe (Kathy) AuBuchon, Steven (Diane) AuBuchon and Lisa (Scott) Hammack.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Robert D. Brown Funeral Home, 103 4th St., in Hillsboro. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 703 3rd St., in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert D. Brown Funeral Home.
