Paula Kay Beck, 77, of Herculaneum died Oct. 31, 2023. Mrs. Beck was a retired title closer and trained many closers in her career. Prior to that job, she was employed at the Brown Shoe Co. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and Elvis tunes. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching college football and baseball. She had strong faith and enjoyed reading her Bible. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Imperial. Born Dec. 28, 1945, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Hornick) and Elmer Apel.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Harold Beck.
She is survived by her three children: Mark (Elizabeth) Beck of De Soto, Christine (Scott) Young of Imperial and Julie (Glenn) Brown of Festus; seven grandchildren: Chad (Christine) Beck and Kasandra and Hunter Beck, Jordan, Noah and Ella Brown and Grace Young; and four great-grandchildren: Elizabeth and Penelope Brown and Scarlet and Sawyer Beck.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Midden and Jean Prindiville.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 p.m. until a service at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Father Daniel Shaughnessy. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the St. Joseph Parish Outreach. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
