Orville “Russ” Russell, 78, of Dittmer died Feb. 7, 2025. Mr. Russell worked in property management as a painter. He served in the U.S. Marines and was a VFW member. He also was a founding member and first exalter ruler of the Cedar Hill Elks. Born March 28, 1946, in Potosi, he was the son of the late Marie (Boyer) and Henry Russell.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years: Chris (Wonish) Russell of Dittmer; a child: Bob (Molly) Rogers of Lexington; three grandchildren: Samantha of San Diego, Calif., Robbie of Lexington and Tommie of Lexington; two nieces: Deb Klein of Cedar Hill and Kay Adams of Mount Olive; two nephews: Rob Griffith of Festus and Jim Kinder of Spanish Lake; and many other family members and friends.
A graveside memorial service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
