
Norbert “Rick” Boyer, 66, of Imperial died Aug. 29, 2025. Mr. Boyer enjoyed working on cars, watching NASCAR, riding dirt bikes, going boating and jet skiing, watching college basketball and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Born Aug. 4, 1959, in Granite City, Ill., he was the son of Norma J. (Fanning) and Norbert R. Boyer Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years: Linda Faye (Burgan) Boyer of Imperial, whom he married on June 27, 1998, in De Soto; three daughters: Lacey (Albert) Nance of Valles Mines, Amber Boyer of Panama City, Fla., and Emily (Dustin) Sellers of Imperial; a sister: Carleen (Danny) Craig of De Soto; six grandchildren: Charlie, Richie, Abigail, Jaxson, Crystal and Quinn; a great-grandson: Hunter; two brothers-in-law: John Burgan of Pevely and Joe (Angel) Burgan of Pevely; two sisters-in-law: Charlotte (Robert) Doza Lee of Clay Center, Kan., and Kathy Boyer of De Soto; his dog: Spinner; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Mike Boyer and Christopher Boyer; two sisters: Christine Boyer and Gale Boyer; his father-in-law: Joseph Red Burgan; his mother-in-law: Alberta Burgan; a brother-in-law: Neal Burgan; and three sisters-in-law: Cheryl (James) Schmitt, Joyce Burgan and Barbara (Bill) Peoples.
Services were held Sept. 2 at Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto, officiated by Deacon Ed Boyer. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
