Nellie Marie “Bubbles” Hussey, 100, of Arnold died March 13, 2026. Mrs. Hussey was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially her mashed potatoes and banana bread, trying new recipes, soothing babies, going on family vacations and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her bubbly personality, strength, independence, smile and contagious laugh. Born March 31, 1925, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Mena) and John Demitroff.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Arthur G. Hussey.
She is survived by two children: Dane (Linda) Hussey of Pensacola, Fla., and Beth (Jeffrey) Grubb of Arnold; nine grandchildren: Cara Hussey, Andrea (Chris) Markham, Brian Hussey, Stuart Dixon, Tara (Mark Pasciuto) Dixon, Devin Dixon, Jason (Laura) Grubb, Laurie (Jarrod Beaman) Grubb and Jonathan (Ashley Barrale) Grubb; 10 great-grandchildren: Alexis, Cody, Jack, Evan, Hope, Gabe, Malia, Abel, Ayden and Asher; a great-great-grandchild: Ember; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Debra Atchison; and two siblings: Christopher George and James Demitroff.
Visitation is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Services are scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel in St. Louis.
