Nancy Mueller Gardner, 69, of Charlotte, N.C., died May 26, 2026. Mrs. Gardner earned a master's degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix, and in 2017 she was recognized as one of The Great 100 Nurses. She often attended her children's school events, chaperoned their field trips and occasionally stepped into the classroom as a substitute teacher. She was also a devoted Christian, having found solace and community at Providence Road Church of Christ after retirement. She enjoyed reading, learning and educating others. She will be remembered for her selflessness, warmth, generosity, kindness and compassion. Born May 10, 1957, in De Soto, she was the daughter of Betty Mueller and the late Robert Mueller.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 35 years: Richard Gardner; a son: Sam Gardner; a daughter: Robyn Oakley; a younger brother: Robert Mueller; and two grandsons: RJ Oakley and Garrin Oakley.
She also was preceded in death by an older brother: Howard Mueller.
Services will be held at a later date in North Carolina.
