Nancy Carolyn (Brown) Nilhas, 87, of Festus died Friday, Jan. 31, 2025. Ms. Nilhas was an avid murder mystery reader who enjoyed a can of Coca-Cola and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Born July 26, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Frances (Waechtler) and Taylor Brown.
She is survived by three children: Randy Nilhas, Scott (Diana) Nilhas and Sally (Richard) Manhart; four grandchildren: Chad (Mechelle), Justin (Audree), Megan and Nicole; four great-grandchildren: Donovan, Hudson, Noah and Abigail; three siblings: Doris (the late Dale), Susan (the late Ken) and Mark (Ruth); and a sister-in-law: Peggy Brown.
She was preceded in death by two siblings: Taylor and David Brown.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Hoffmeister Funeral Home, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County. Burial will follow in Concordia Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hoffmeister Funeral Home.
