
Michael Richard Bachmann, 76, of Hillsboro died Sept. 26, 2025. Mr. Bachmann was known as a devoted family man who was happiest when spending time with family and friends. He had a lifelong passion for cars and could often be found enjoying a friendly game of pool with those close to him. In his younger years, he enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was a proud and dedicated employee of St. Louis Paper and Box Co., where he worked for more than 48 years. He will be remembered for his loyalty, strong work ethic and gentle spirit. Born Oct. 9, 1948, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Earl Bachmann Sr. and Helen (Bland) Bachmann.
He is survived by eight siblings: Sharon Wirtel, Susan Ruff, Cindy Landrum, Nancy Peetz, Patricia Greene, Harry Bachmann, Judy Bachmann and Hans Bachmann; many nieces and nephews; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by three siblings: Earl Bachmann Jr., Larry Bachmann and Timothy Bachmann.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. until services at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, Robert Brown Chapel, 103 Fourth St., Hillsboro. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary, Robert Brown Chapel.
