Matthew James Barker, 48, of Dittmer died March 27, 2024. Born Dec. 15, 1975, in St. Louis, Mr. Barker was the son of Nancy (Schepers) and David Barker of Dittmer.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by five children: Timothy Barker, Brittney Reed, Christopher Murray, Riley Barker and Aaron Barker; two bonus children: Delaney and Lilly; five grandchildren: Lennon, Thea, Colton, Avalynn and Elizabeth; two siblings: Chrissee (David) Dunavant and Jennifer (Mickey) Richardson; nieces and nephews: Elizabeth Ulch, Kaylee, Alyssa, Pluto and Brandon Richardson; aunts and uncles: Barbara Bock, Albert (Eileen Cook) Schepers, Richard (Sheri) Schepers, Marilyn Rekart, Robert Barker and Ronald Barker; a grandparent: Charlotte Hutson Schepers; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by an aunt: Beverly Schepers; and grandparents: Albert Schepers, Bill and Gladys Barker.
A funeral Mass was held April 9 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Fenton. Burial followed in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Matt Barker Memorial Fund at Lindell Bank or checks can be sent to Nancy Barker or Venmo, nancy-barker-27, to help with funeral arrangements. Arrangements were under the direction of Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton.
