Mary Sue (Cole) Whaley, 95, of De Soto died Oct. 26, 2025. Mrs. Whaley was a homemaker, caring for her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known for making her home welcoming and a place of warmth, laughter and love. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her strong faith, gentle spirit, kindness and sense of humor. Born Sept. 8, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Mollie (Engledow) Cole and Brentwood Cole.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years: George Gene Whaley.
She is survived by two sons: Kenneth (Debra) Whaley and Randy (Monica) Whaley; five granddaughters: Jackie (Rickie) Williams, Beth Whaley, Melissa (Chris) McKim, Katie (Chris) Lange and Kari (Troy) Funk; and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto, officiated by Kenny Sims.
