Mary Jo (Tyrey) Helton, 81, of High Ridge died Jan. 15, 2024, in Fenton. Mrs. Helton was a St. Louis Cardinals’ Baseball enthusiast. She enjoyed socializing, crossword puzzles and reading. Born Feb. 26, 1942, in Valley Park, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Agnes (Sherrill) Tyrey.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Ralph Helton.
She is survived by four children: Jeffrey Helton of High Ridge, Cheryl Thomas of High Ridge, Gregory Helton of Eureka and Suzanne (Greg) Pingleton of Union; three grandchildren: Lori Thomas, Brandon O’Reilly and Eric Pingleton; four great-grandchildren: Trystan Brown, Maiya Brown, Addilyn Pingleton and Sawyer Pingleton; a brother: Donald (Sandy) Tyrey of O’Fallon; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son: Gary Helton; and three siblings: Alma Burnett, Frances Moore, and Owen Tyrey.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until service at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
