Marilyn Fay Ligons, 67, of Festus died March 31, 2026. Mrs. Ligons was a member of Prince of Peace United Pentecostal Church in St. Louis and Festus. She enjoyed cooking meals for those she loved, taking peaceful car rides and shopping, often with a lighthearted habit of returning her purchases. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Born July 29, 1958, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Harold Bailey and Ruby (Hedgcoth) Bailey.
She is survived by her husband: Aaron “Van” Ligons of Festus; six children: Gary (Jennifer) Rogers Jr. of Leavenworth, Kan., Mark Tringl Jr. of Festus, Aaron Ligons Jr. of Fenton, Trina Rogers of Cambridge, Md., Michelle (Jeffrey) Stevson of Pevely and Stephanie (Andrew) Fleming of Venice, Fla.; four brothers: Stanley Bailey of Poplar Bluff, Jeff Bailey of Greenville, Thomas (Edith) Bailey of Paragould, Ark., and Bruce (Brenda) Bailey of Greenville; three sisters: Carol Dudley of Jerseyville, Ill., Myla (Jose) Wilson of Paragould, Ark., and Angie (Dave) Wright of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter: Tivia Rogers; a brother: Danny Bailey; two sisters: Janet King and Joan Freimuth; and a brother-in-law: Mike Carraway.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Monday, April 6, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4207 Lindell Blvd., St. Louis, 63108, or by calling 314-286-8100.
