Margaret Thelma “Margie” Fulton, 95, of Festus died Oct. 15, 2023, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Festus. Mrs. Fulton was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City and worked as a secretary for Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, dancing, painting and being with her family. Born June 11, 1928, in Detroit, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Catherine Mary (Brengmann) and Ernest John Schwartz Sr.
She was preceded in death by her spouses: Richard Robert Engle and Billy Fulton.
She is survived by two daughters: Mary (Robert) Fehlker and Suzanne Engle, both of Festus; a son: Richard (Carol) Engle of Festus; a stepdaughter: Darlene (the late Phil) Sosnoff of Des Peres; three stepsons: Dana Fulton, Dan (Terri) Fulton and Darrin Fulton, all of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren: Steffanie (James) Campbell, Kimberly (Nick) Aubuchon, Joseph (Brandy) Fehlker, Jenifer (Bryan) Warren, Jaime (Jim) Squires, Donald (Holly) Engle, Joseph (Jennifer) Lee, Sarah Lepp, Danielle (Archie) Tabor, Richard Maness and Samuel (Forrest) Rayburn; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by nine siblings: Lucille Schwartz, Elenore Schwartz, Elmer Schwartz, Ernest Schwartz Jr., Clarence Schwartz, Blanche Rosu, Frank Schwartz, Betty Bogden, and Ilene Bloom; and two grandchildren: Andrea Bradley and Gabriel (Kristy Maness-Kushto survives) Maness.
A memorial Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, November 9, Sacred Heart Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City. Burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Old Newsboys of St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
