Margaret Delores Morgan, 79, of Festus died Jan. 3, 2025, at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Crystal City. Ms. Morgan worked 12 years in the Festus School District and 26 years in the De Soto School District, from which she retired as a librarian. She was an animal lover and enjoyed traveling, attending concerts and visiting art museums. She was a life member of the Missouri State Teachers Association and a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Festus-Crystal City, where she was very active with the church choir. Born Oct. 15, 1945, in Greenville, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Allie Lee (Hocutt) and Thomas Preston Morgan.
She is survived by numerous cousins in Mississippi and many friends.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until services at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at the First United Methodist Church of Festus-Crystal City, 113 Grand Ave., officiated by Pastor Tish Green. Burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, in Drew Cemetery in Drew, Miss. Memorials may be made to the Jefferson County Animal Control in House Springs, Open Door Animal Sanctuary in House Springs or the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
