Louise Kathryn (Goedecke) Greenlee, 84, of De Soto died Aug. 7, 2026. Mrs. Greenlee was a retired secretary from Monsanto/Solutia. She was known for speaking gently, laughing heartily and making sure that others felt accepted for who they were. She loved animals, saving many strays on the euthanasia list and reuniting them with their owners. She bottle-fed calves, lambs, goats and kittens in her kitchen. She raised pheasants, peafowl and rabbits of all breeds. She was an active member of a Chicken Club and would travel across state lines to bring a llama home in a minivan. She enjoyed tending to her garden, which boasted beds of tulips and irises adjacent to rows of cucumbers, zucchini and tomatoes. She was an avid reader, a yard sale connoisseur and a Murder, She Wrote junkie. She also enjoyed driving her family around in “grandma’s taxi.” She was a huge fan of Elvis and Tom Selleck’s mustache. Born Dec. 13, 1941, she was the only child of the late Ruth (Greenfield) and William Goedecke.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Larry Greenlee.
She is survived by a son: William Turbiville; four grandchildren: Fawn (Jesse) Ponzar, Danielle Greenlee, Ben Greenlee and Adam (Grace) Turbiville; nine great-grandchildren: Jade, London and Marley Ponzar, Alivia, Liam and Rylan Tomlinson, Ezra Morgan, Carson and Hadley Turbiville; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Laura Greenlee.
