Lorinda Mae Grigery, 86, of Carthage died April 25, 2025. Mrs. Grigery was born and went to school in Piedmont, the town her mother’s side of the family founded. She enjoyed watching TV, embroidering, reading and being with family. She enjoyed traveling to and living in many different states, due to her husband’s employment with AT&T. She loved the desert and taking in its scenery. She had a salt and pepper collection of more than 1,000 sets, and she donated blood for some years, only two pints short of giving 20 gallons. She was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Festus, where she also volunteered in the kitchen and nursery. She also enjoyed partaking in the church choir. Born Aug. 31, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Maxell and Mary Opal L. (Daniels) Rosan.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years: Noel Cornelius Grigery.
She is survived by a son: Douglas (Kim) Grigery of Carthage; a daughter: Susie P.R. (Louis Jr.) Sees of North Carolina.; a brother: Daniel Rosan; a sister: Diane Truscott; six grandchildren: Joshua T. (Brandy) Hepler, Cody L.C. (Krystal) Lipe, Brandon R.C. (Brenda) Lipe, Louis W. Sees III, Tyler J. (Sara) Grigery and Charlene Peppes; 14 great-grandchildren: Brenden, Grant, Alijah, Addison, Aubrey, Michael, Wesley, Dean, Kalliope, Graham, Ava, Baker, JD and Sloane; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a brother: Eugene Rosan; a sister: Betty L. Hilliard; and a grandson: Brandon Lipe.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until services at noon Friday, May 2, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. Burial will follow with a graveside service at 3 p.m. in the Piedmont Masonic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
