Bennett, Linda

Linda Fay Bennett, 76, of Barnhart died July 3, 2024, at her home. Mrs. Bennett co-operated her husband’s construction business. She played piano for several churches throughout the Midwest, as she and her husband served in various churches and revivals and partook in daily Bible studies. She is remembered for her eagerness to help others in any way she could, her fun-loving nature and her talent and innovation as a homemaker. Born Sept. 16, 1947, at St. Louis City Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Virginia and Raymond Kennedy.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Bernett Bennett, whom she married May 8, 1964, in Arnold; three daughters: Rebecca (Brad) Hicks of Barnhart; Melonie (Joseph) Payne of Dexter and Lynette (Jeffrey) O’Brien of Barnhart; six grandchildren: Dacota (Shane) Tharp of Naylor, Miranda (Alex) Benn of De Soto, Moriah (Ryce) Hartsfield of Dexter, Cheyenne (Trenton) O’Brien of Barnhart, Josiah Payne of Cape Girardeau and Mata O’Brien of Barnhart; seven great-grandchildren: Kollin, Khodi and Kaiah Tharp of Naylor, Mila and Easton Benn of De Soto, Nora O’Brien of Barnhart and one to be born; a sister: Johanna Knight; a niece: Virginia; a nephew: Stephen; a sister-in-law and her son: Jerri Kennedy and Raymond.

She was preceded in death by two brothers: Raymond Kennedy and Randy (the late Connie) Kennedy.

Services were held July 6 at Kutis South County Chapel in south St. Louis County. Burial was in Shepherd Hills Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
