Lesa Ann Burgess, 65, of De Soto died Jan. 26, 2024. Ms. Burgess loved her dogs, crossword lottery tickets and, most importantly, spending time with her friends and family. Born Sept. 27, 1958, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Frances N. (Stokes) Burgess of De Soto and the late Ralph J. Burgess.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a significant other: Buddy Shoemaker of De Soto; a son: David T. (Heidi) Brandt of Juneau, Wis.; a sister: Cathy (Paul) Jacobs of Festus; two grandsons: Max Brandt of Juneau, Wis., and Abel Brandt of Juneau, Wis.; four granddaughters: Hailey Brandt of Juneau, Wis., Ella Brandt of Juneau, Wis., Lillie Brandt of Juneau, Wis., and Pearl Brandt of Juneau, Wis.; two nieces: Angela Normann of Fenton and Amy Roth of Festus; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a nephew: Timothy Brannon.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until services at noon Monday, Feb. 5, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by Pastor Ryan Sutton. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 28566, St. Louis, 63146. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
