Laura Elizabeth McKean, 22, of De Soto died Oct. 6, 2024, in St. Louis. Ms. McKean enjoyed painting, drawing, writing and reading. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was known for her huge heart, generosity and caring nature. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Born Aug. 26, 2002, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Steven Joseph McKean and Dana Christine (Cox) McKean of De Soto.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother: Samuel McKean of St. Louis; a niece: Amelia McKean; a nephew: Elijah McKean; her maternal grandparents: David and Gail Cox; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: William and Adele McKean.
A memorial gathering is scheduled for 1 p.m. until a memorial service at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus, with a closing prayer by the Rev. Don Bahr. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 4321 Chouteau Ave., St. Louis, 63110. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
