Laura A. Capehart, 78, of Herculaneum died July 15, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Capehart retired as a nurse. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Born Jan. 5, 1946, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Louise (Burns) and Samuel H. Crowe Jr.
She was preceded in death by two husbands: Paul Hahn and Lawrence Capehart.
She is survived by three children: Mandy (James) Kenuam of De Soto, Patty (Steve) Small of Imperial and Sherry (Kit) Clark of Baldwin City, Kan.; two siblings: Frances (Rees) Nickerson and Samuel Crowe III; nine grandchildren: Kristen, Ben, Madison (Devin), Caleb (Chase), Aspen, Joshua (Sabrina), Matthew, Shelby and Carson; and two great-grandchildren: Olivia and Ryan.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Shirley May; a sister-in-law: Bunny Crowe; and a brother-in-law: George May.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 22, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N Main, in De Soto. Entombment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum in De Soto. Memorials may be made to ACPD, 5228 S. Lindbergh, St. Louis, 63126, or Pony Bird, 1 Pony Bird Lane, Mapaville, 63065.
