Kenneth Robert "Bob" Smoot Sr., 84, of Imperial died Oct. 21, 2023, at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton. Mr. Smoot was a veteran in the U.S. Army and a retired St. Louis City firefighter. Born Feb. 11, 1939, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Mary Melcinia (Missey) and Herman Smoot.
He is survived by his spouse: Lee (Lumia) Smooth; three children: Bob Smoot, Tina (Tony) Kimbrell and Shelly Smoot; two siblings: Thomas (Peggy Harris) Smoot and Raymond Smoot; two grandchildren: Jaclyn (Geraldine) Gallagher and Robert (Leslie Torres) Pannell; a step-grandson: Zach Merriman; as well as many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Herman (Marcella) Smoot; and a sister: Helen (Charles) Lubiewski.
Visitation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6020 Old Antonia Road, in Imperial, officiated by Father Matt O'Toole. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home South County Chapel.
