Kenneth B. Merseal, 85, of De Soto died Oct. 19, 2023. Mr. Merseal was a retired union truck driver for Fred Weber. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Teamsters Local 682, VFW Post 1831 and BPOE 689. Born Sept. 16, 1938, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Mary C. (Baker) Merseal Pullen and the late Victor James Merseal.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Sandra “Sandy” (Craig) Merseal; three children: Kenneth “Bengy” (Danita) Merseal of De Soto, Kelly (Shane) Coffman of De Soto and Dave (Janice) Merseal of De Soto; a brother: Robert Merseal; two stepsisters: Loma and Betty; nine grandchildren: Christopher Brant Merseal, Tiffany (John) Knight, Samantha Merseal, Danielle (Isaac) Jones, Christina (Richard) Tucker, Andrea (T.J.) Tidwell, Jonathon Coffman, Kyle Coffman and Aylvia Coffman; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Wanda Bailey and Glenda Rhives; a half-brother: Milford Merseal; and a stepbrother: Leonard Pullen.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the funeral home, officiated by Jim and David Rhives. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery in De Soto.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
