Dehner, Judith

Judith Chloe Dehner, 89, of Austin, Texas, formerly of Imperial and Crystal City, died Feb. 1, 2026, at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Lakeway, Texas. Mrs. Dehner grew up in Antonia and then moved to Festus as a teenager. She was a lifelong member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, attending Sunday school and receiving confirmation. After graduating from Herculaneum High School, she worked for a year and saved enough money to pay for a year at Southeast Missouri State College. She worked at Union Electric in Festus for several years. In 1962, she and her husband married and went on to raise their sons, seeing that they achieved a college education. She was a caregiver for her brother, mother, and her husband in his final years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, catching up with old friends and talking about life in Antonia in her later years. Born Dec. 30, 1936, in Antonia, she was the daughter of the late Georgia M. (Bacon) and Fred E. Klable.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Leo Dehner Sr.

She is survived by two sons: Leo (Kelly) Dehner Jr. of Austin, Texas, and Fred Paul Dehner of Osage Beach; and five grandchildren: Blaise Dehner, Julia Dehner, Chloe Dehner, Andrew Leo Dehner and Georgia Dehner.

She also was preceded in death by a brother: Fred W. Klable.

Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, 6610 Saint Luke’s Church Road, in Antonia, 63052. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s United Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
