John R. Haverstick, 88, of De Soto died July 6, 2025, at Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. Mr. Haverstick served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired truck driver for Fred Weber. Born Jan. 22, 1937, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Alfred and Estelle L. (Christopher) Haverstick.
He is survived by his wife: Laura M. (Hall) Haverstick of De Soto; two children: Ron (Sheri) Haverstick of Moscow Mills and Debbie (David) Belt of Winder, Ga.; five grandchildren: Tiffany Haverstick, Misty Gullett, Brandi Williamson, Tyler Haverstick and Ryan Belt; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Cathy Lones; and a brother: Norman “Stick” (Venita) Haverstick.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until a funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice, 5272 Flat River Road, Park Hills, 63601. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
