Shink, Joe

Joe’ Jean Shink, 55, of French Village died Aug. 4, 2024. Mr. Shink worked for Lumbee Enterprises, keeping the parts line moving for Chrysler. He also worked at Illini State and JP Transport as a truck driver and JP Transport as safety director. He was a very creative builder when it came to fabricating Volkswagen Beetles into tricycle motorcycles and giving them his personal touch. He loved fixing and building things as well as keeping transport semi-trailer trucks operating and moving down the highway. Born Aug. 20, 1968, in Louisville, Ky., he was the son of Jean Guy and Ginette Shink of Franklin County.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister: Nancy Shink of Jefferson County.

A memorial gathering is scheduled from 9 a.m. until a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Ave., in Festus. Memorials may be made to the Peace Pantry for Joe Shink, PO Box 32, Cedar Hill, 63016. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahn Funeral Home Twin City Chapel.
