Eureka Police arrested a 25-year-old High Ridge for suspected possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop. The woman was driving a car that was not displaying license plates, police reported.
An officer at about 12:30 a.m. Aug. 1 stopped the woman, who was driving a 2008 Buick LaCrosse, near the intersection of Augustine and Eureka roads. The woman told the officer the car did not have license plates because she had just purchased the Buick, the report said.
However, the woman did not have a title or bill of sale for the car, according to the report.
The officer learned the woman did not have a Missouri driver’s license, and a license that was issued to her in Florida had been suspended. The woman allegedly told the officer that her license should not be suspended in Florida, the report said.
The officer reported the woman continually looked at the driver’s side floorboard while talking with him. When he asked her if he could search the car, the woman said yes but that she didn’t know what was in the car, according to the report.
The officer allegedly found a bag with a crystal-like substance suspected of being methamphetamine on the driver’s side floorboard. The officer also allegedly found multiple spoons and pipes with residue in a container that was under the woman’s clothing in the backseat area of the car, the report said.
The woman told the officer she didn’t know about the bag on the driver’s side floorboard, and she didn’t know about the items in the backseat area, according to the report.
The woman was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where she was booked and released pending the request for charges, the report said.
Eureka Police will seek charges against the woman through the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license, Lt. Brett Grittini said.
