Holden, Jimmy

Jimmy Leo Holden, 79, of Pevely died Feb. 4, 2026, at his home. Mr. Holden served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Mississippi River Eagles. He enjoyed working with his hands until his hands no longer worked. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was known to treat those he met like they were family. Born Sept. 25, 1946, in Oklahoma City, Okla., he was the son of the late Beulah (Heath) and Albert Holden.

He is survived by his wife: Sandra (Steaveson) Holden; four children: Teresa (Gary) Mitchell of Yukon, Okla., Edward Holden of Oklahoma City, Danielle Shumaker of Norman, Okla., and Kelly Welch of Pevely; two grandchildren: Amanda and Melody; and a sister: Fran (Stan) Britton of Newark, Texas.

He was preceded in death by two siblings: William Holden and Flora Brewer.

Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
