Jerome D. “J.D.” Koch, 90, of De Soto died Oct. 9, 2023. Mr. Koch retired after working for more than 50 years as a real estate agent. He served in U.S. Army and the Missouri National Guard. He was a member of Amvets Post 48 and Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. Born Jan. 19, 1933, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Maude (Johnson) and Aloysius J. “Al” Koch.
He was preceded in death by his first wife: Lois (Cross) Koch; and his second wife: Roberta “Bertie” (Fairless) Koch.
He is survived by three children: Julie Hedley of De Soto, Jim (Linette) Koch of Hillsboro and Lori Koch of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren: Amber (Brandon) Link and Raymond Koch; a great-granddaughter: Alyce Link; a special friend: Kim “Stalker” Walker; as well as many other family members and friends.
He also was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Harley Hedley; a sister: Kathleen (Gordon) Higgins; and three brothers: Robert (Alice) Koch, Donnell “Deno” (Betty Jean) Koch and Frank (Marilyn) Koch.
A visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a memorial service at noon Thursday, October 19, at the Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Sotto, officiated by the Journey Community Church Pastor, Rick Pirtle. Burial will take place in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Journey Community Church, 820 N. Main St., in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
