Jeanine Lynn Ashwell, 79, of St. Louis died Aug. 14, 2024. Mrs. Ashwell was a 1965 graduate of Deaconess School of Nursing and was a retired RN from St. Anthony’s Medical Center. She was a member of Prince of Peace UCC and was president of the women's fellowship. She also was a board member of the Sappington-Concord Historical Society. Born Nov. 4, 1944, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Decke) and Charles Lony.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years: Wayne Ashwell.
She is survived by two children: Scott (Tracey) Ashwell of House Springs and Susan (Mark) Schraut of St. Louis; seven grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Zach) Fensterman of Glen Carbon, Ill., Erin and Colin Ashwell of House Springs, Sarah, Emily, Megan and Andrew Schraut, all of St. Louis; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by two siblings: Sharon (Charles) Schulze and Darrel (Joyce survives) Lony.
Visitation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, in South St. Louis County. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Prince of Peace UCC, 4966 Towne South Road, in St. Louis, 63128, officiated by the Rev. Brad Urban. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Affton. Memorials may be made to the Prince of Peace UCC. Arrangements are under the direction of John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home.
