Jeanette O. Kouba, 94, of Arnold died Aug. 15, 2025, in St. Louis. Mrs. Kouba was a former Catholic nun and worked as a special education teacher. She volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Anthony's Hospital and the Arnold Food Pantry. Born Oct. 31, 1930, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Katherine (Mueller) and Ernest A. Werkmeister.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years: Rudolph J. "Rudy" Kouba.
She is survived by a sibling: Russell C. (Henrietta) Werkmeister.
She also was preceded in death by siblings: Donald Werkmeister, Marian J. Weldele and M. Eileen Pagano.
A visitation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County Chapel, 4830 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis. A visitation will resume from 9 a.m. until a funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Holy Family Catholic Church Parish Center, 2300 Church Road., in Arnold, officiated by Father Paul Niemann. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Arrangements are under the direction of John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home.
