Janet Marlene Chick, 68, of De Soto died Aug. 28, 2025. Ms. Chick worked as a laundry attendant for Hillsboro Laundry before retiring. She loved spending time with her grandsons. Born July 30, 1957, in Camp Irvin, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Leslie Chick and Betty (Lockard) Chick.
She is survived by a daughter: Jennifer (Nick) Bono of Hillsboro; two brothers: James (Debbie) Chick of Hillsboro and Don "Joe" Chick of St. Louis; a sister: Anita Jane (John Ottomeyer) Chick of Hillsboro; two grandsons: Gavin Tucker-Bono and Angelo Bono; two nieces: Kayla (Michael) Case and Sarah (TJ) Kostro; five nephews: Les (Cathrine) Gibson, Brian Gibson, Michael (Christa) Chick, Brandon (Kerri) Meyers and Caleb (Becca) Chick; several great-nieces and nephews; and two lifelong friends: Glenda Schutte and Tammy Freels.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Jeanne Chick.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, officiated by Pastor Ryan Sutton. Burial will follow in Peaceful Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
