James Richard Buxton, 80, of Catawissa died Aug. 27, 2026, in Fenton. Mr. Buxton was a farmer and beekeeper. He served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Franklin and Jefferson County Beekeepers Association. Born June 8, 1946, in Richmond Heights, he was the son of the late Carol Mary Louise (Miller) Buxton and Jerome Buxton.
He is survived by his wife: Kathleen (Ferro) Buxton of Catawissa; a child: Carrie (Chris) Chaves of Hillsboro; five grandchildren: Andrew Chaves, Samuel Chaves, Melanie Chaves, Tristen Boughan and Brenden Boughan; a sibling: Robert (Brenda) Buxton of Catawissa; special friends: Scott and Debra Moser, Steve and Pamela Reichardt and Jimmy Flint-Smith; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Bell Funeral Home, 709 W. Union St., in Pacific. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. David Lange. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Robertsville. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell Funeral Home.
