James Eric Dunlap, 58, of Hillsboro died Aug. 3, 2025, at his home. Mr. Dunlap worked maintenance at Fish’s Quick Stop and also worked as a delivery driver for Steinmetz Vending. Born Feb. 21, 1967, in Frankfurt, Germany, he was the son of James Henry Dunlap of De Soto and the late Nancy K. (Ingels) Dunlap.
In addition to his father, he is survived by a child: Betty Ann (Stuart) Martin of Arnold; a grandson: William Henry Martin; and his dog and constant companion: Joey.
He was preceded in death by a sibling: John Paul Dunlap.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
