Jackie Lee McDonald, 87, of Grubville died July 9, 2025, in Chesterfield. Mr. McDonald served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1958, where he learned the electrician trade. Following his service, he later returned to the electrical trade as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union for more than 50 years. He enjoyed cruises, traveling and spending time on his farm with June. Born Sept. 26, 1937, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Malcolm McDonald and Louise Zimmerman.
He is survived by his life partner: June Lopretta; three sons: Mark, Larry and Timothy; his inherited children: Yvonne, Christine, Barbara and Samuel; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his eight older siblings.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 24, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at t2t.org. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
