Imelda Theresa Ritcher, 90, of Festus died Nov. 11, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Ritcher was a homemaker and a retired cook from Poppy’s Restaurant. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City. Born July 15, 1934, in St. Mary’s, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Delia (Rayoum) Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Norman Ritcher.
She is survived by two sons: Dennis Chatfield of Festus and Michael (Donna) Chatfield of Festus; a daughter: Theresa (David) Welch of Bloomsdale; three sisters: Ellamae (Charles) Turley, Maryann (Jim) Roesch and Ruthann Fox; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son: Ronnie Chatfield; a daughter: Theresa (Chatfield) Carr; four brothers: Silvester Smith, Joseph Smith, Roy Lee Smith and Benny Joseph Smith; four sisters: Zelma (Wally) Bange, Rosalie (Edmond) Huber, Lorretta (Johnny) Portell and Dorothy (Vol) Lindsey; and a great-granddaughter: Myka Barbee.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City, 63019, officiated by Father Stephen En Suan Lian. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
