Hunter J. Davidson, 19, of De Soto died Aug. 19, 2025, at University Hospital in Columbia. Hunter worked as a mechanic at Meineke in Arnold. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves with the 245th Support Maintenance Company. Born Dec. 5, 2005, in Lake St. Louis. He was the son of Brian Charles Davidson of Winfield and Desiree Dawn (Politte) Koch of De Soto. He was the stepson of Frank Koch of De Soto.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two siblings: Cpl. Coby (Natsuki) Davidson of USMC Okinawa, Japan, and Bryce (Jayna) Davidson of De Soto; grandparents: Terry and Linda Davidson of New Cambria, Debbie Politte of De Soto and Vicki Politte of Herculaneum; his significant other: Sara Appleton; a close friend: Tina Ens of Winfield; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather: Dennis Politte.
Visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m., with military funeral honors at noon Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
