Vaughn, Henry 'H.E.'

Henry Ellis “H.E.” Vaughn III, 71, of Festus died Jan. 17, 2026, at his home. Mr. Vaughn retired from the maintenance department at Logan School of Chiropractic in Chesterfield. He was a member of Good News Community Church of Festus and a life member of Festus-Crystal City Elks 1721. He was an avid photographer who enjoyed traveling and, most of all, spending time with family, friends and his dachshund, Gemma. Born Sept. 3, 1954, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Carol Lee (Foosey) and Henry Ellis “Hank” Vaughn Jr.

He is survived by his wife: Sandy (Scrivner) Vaughn; a son: Henry E. (Dawn) Vaughn IV of Festus; a brother: David (Michelle) Vaughn of Festus; two sisters: Karen (Elizabeth Duggan) Vaughn of Festus and Mary (Jeff) Luby of Hillsboro; his mother-in-law: Hazel Scrivner of Herculaneum; a brother-in-law: Mike (Christy) Scrivner of Hillsboro; three grandchildren: Lucas Ryan Vaughn, Chloe Grace Vaughn and Carter Jacob Vaughn; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until funeral services at noon Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Justin Metiva.  Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or any local pet rescue organization. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
