H. Donald Boyd II, 92, of Festus died Dec. 27, 2024, at his home. Mr. Boyd was proud of his membership in the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. He was a retired regional manager of Laclede Gas Co. He also was a member of First United Methodist Church of Festus-Crystal City, Elks 1721 and was a founding member of the Show Me Car Club. He enjoyed farming and restoring antique automobiles. Born March 21, 1932, in Festus, he was the son of the late Rosa L. (Rule) and Herbert Donald Boyd.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years: Winifred (Laiben) Boyd.
He is survived by a son: Dennis (Julie) Boyd of Festus; three grandchildren: Ross (Megan) Boyd, Jodi Boyd and Brooke Boyd; and two great-grandsons: Brennan Boyd and Beckham Boyd.
He also was preceded in death by a son: H. Don Boyd III; and two sisters: Shirley (the late Lester) Huston and Mary (the late Edgar) Kramme.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Tish Green, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Festus-Crystal City. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
