
Gregory Alan “Greg” Cole, 68, of Hillsboro died May 28, 2024, at his home. Mr. Cole was vice president and co-owner of Star Lumber Co. in Imperial, working with his dad and sisters until it closed after 58 years of business. He was a Christian and attended First Free Will Baptist Church of De Soto. He enjoyed woodworking, working outside, especially with his tractor, and spending time with family and friends. Born Sept. 26, 1955, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Juanita V. (Franklin) and Claude A. Cole.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years: Diane (McKean) Cole; five children: Heather (Shawn) Struckhoff of Pevely, Jason (Lori) Tosie of Festus, Kenneth Tosie of Hillsboro, Corey (Julie) Cole of Arnold and Kelly (Enrique) Flores of Imperial; two sisters: Cathy (Dave) Theiss and Janet (David) Schaub; four sisters and brothers-in-law: Patricia and Douglas Klein, Janet and James Milkovich, Marilyn and Tim Cox and Franny and Mike Burger; 18 grandchildren; 1 grandson-in-law; 1 great-granddaughter; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Gloria and Jack McKean.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. until a service at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in south St. Louis County, officiated by Brother Bob Thebeau. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
