Glenarva Paschang, 85, of Imperial died Oct. 28, 2023, at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Paschang graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1956 and attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. She was a homemaker and worked as a teacher’s aide in the Chillicothe R-II School District for students with learning disabilities for more than 20 years. After retirement, she moved with her husband to Imperial to be closer to family. Known as “Arva" or “Arvy” to her friends, she will be remembered for her huge heart and many talents. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, gardening, cooking, sunshine and nature, boating, camping, water skiing, golfing and spending time with family and friends. Born Feb. 21, 1938, in Chillicothe, she was the daughter of the late John Elver and Nigal (Dayton) Seidel. She was preceded in death by her husband: Walter Paschang.
She is survived by two daughters: Martha Paschang of O’Fallon and Lisa (Jaime) Klipsch of St. Louis; a son: John (Robin Kretzer) Paschang of Arnold; five grandchildren: Jack Klipsch, Andrea Klipsch, Cassie (Zak Fox) Paschang, Allie Paschang and Marissa Paschang; one great-grandchild: Zane Fox; a brother: Charles “Pete” (Mary) Seidel of Kansas City; a brother-in-law: Bob Minnick of Columbia; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a sister: Wanda Minnick.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until a service at noon Friday, Nov. 17, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home, 1081 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Burial will take place in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, American Lung Association, American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home in Arnold.
