Gilbert H. Meyer, 91, of Arnold died Dec. 15, 2024. Mr. Meyer loved to work in his garden, barbecue on his grill and, most of all, spend time with his family. He also was an enthusiastic St. Louis Cardinals fan. Born Aug. 13, 1933, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Arthur and Lillian (Holtz) Meyer.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years: Gloria (Van Cleave) Meyer.
He is survived by two children: Steven (Betty) Meyer and Sharon (Shawn) Sherrill; a sibling: Carl (Nancy) Meyer; a sibling-in-law: Diane Klingerman; six grandchildren: Josh (Cindy) Meyer, Phil (Lyndsay) Duffe, Bradley (Sandra) Sherrill, Jacob Sherrill, Sydney Meyer and Savannah Meyer; seven great-grandchildren: Addison, Emmylou and Ava Meyer, Tyler, Luke, Drew Duffe and Emmy Sherrill; and many other family members and friends.
He also was preceded in death by a child: Ann Duffe; and a great-grandchild: Owen Sherrill.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, in St. Louis County. Funeral services are scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis South County Chapel.
