Gerald Edgar “Jerry” Kite, 76, of Hillsboro died May 1, 2025, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Kite worked as an assembler. He was a volunteer at Delmar Gardens South County and Hillsboro Food Pantry and was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church. Born May 30, 1948, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Marvin and Dorothy (Livengood) Kite.
He is survived by his wife: Mary E. (Eilers) Kite of Hillsboro; siblings-in-law: Kathy (Michael) Pryor of High Ridge, Paulette (Mark) Montgomery of De Soto, Charles Eilers of Hillsboro, Warren Eilers of De Soto and Regina Eilers of Bell City.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Amos “Buddy” Eilers.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 1 p.m. Today, May 5, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main, in De Soto, officiated by Dale Thebeau. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
