Georgene Jo Okes, 81, of Imperial died Nov. 6, 2023, at her home. Ms. Okes was a homemaker and a member of Crosspoint Church of South County. Born Nov. 21, 1941, in Sullivan, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Eunice (Hiatt) and Loren Okes.
She is survived by two children: Melisa (Brian) Robert of Imperial and Teresa (Jasen) Kinworthy of Arnold; three siblings: Ronald Okes of Terre Haute, Ind., Donald Okes of Fairbank, Ind. and Gloriajean Okes of Terre Haute, Ind.; six grandchildren: Aaron Robert of Pacific, Joshua Robert of Nashville, Tenn., Petra Robert of Imperial, Abigail Smith of Imperial, Justin Kinworthy and Jessica Kinworthy of Arnold; and four great-grandchildren: Joshua Robert, Sawyer Robert, Annie Robert of Pacific and Ella Robert of Nashville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by two children: David and Arlene Copper; and a sibling: Nelson Okes.
A memorial service will take place in Merom, Ind. Arrangements are under the direction of the family.
