Geneva L. “Billie” Russell, 98, of De Soto, formerly of Ware, died Oct. 31, 2023, at Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. Mrs. Russell was a homemaker. Born Oct. 4, 1925, in Brazil, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Jefferson Riley and Bessie (Martin) Brakefield.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Floyd Cletus Russell.
She is survived by three children: Alvin (Nickolyn) Russell, Gary (Grace) Russell and Judy (David) Eisenhauer; five grandchildren: Karen (Shawn) Dement, Mark (Carrie) Russell, Lisa (Mark) Jordan, Stephen (Jeni) Russell and Matt (Michelle) Eisenhauer; two close nieces: Donna and Dorothy Russell; as well as many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by a nephew: Wayne Russell; 10 siblings: Howard (Ethyl) Brakefield, Leonard (Blanche) Brakefield, Marple (Alfred) McKee, Malona (Norvel) Speidel, Jane (Lloyd) Belew, Gladine (Quintin) Schmidt, June (George) Russell, Hazel (Ira) Moses, Jean (Paul) Dickinson and infant sister Zelda Brakefield.
A service was held Nov. 4 at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto. Burial took place in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto. Arrangements were under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
